Strategic Alliances


THE STRATEGY EXPERT® collaborates with professionals in many areas. We believe a collaborative environment helps all organizations (from alliance partners to clients) grow to the next level. We believe so strongly in the value of collaborating that we filed “Collaborate” as a trademark with the USPTO in 2023.

There are many ways to collaborate, and we are open to discussing structures that make sense for all parties. Here are some examples.  

Referrals: Over the years, we have received many referrals from past clients, executives from past clients, workshop attendees, and others. We have a referral process and share revenue with our referral partners. If you are interested in making referrals to us, please reach out and let us know. We will dedicate time to explain the services we provide and their potential value to clients.  

Bankers: While Tier 1 banks have consultants on staff, often smaller, local, and regional banks and credit unions don’t need full-time consultants to work with their clients. THE STRATEGY EXPERT® serves as an outsourced consulting firm. Commercial loan officers who want a strategic review of a business plan reach out before funding. Bankers with customers who seem to be struggling often refer us to help ensure the client overcomes hurdles. Wealth managers with customers who are seeking to grow their business, acquire other businesses, or exit their business often refer us to their banking customers. We also conduct strategic due diligence on business plans to assess the business model being used, the strategic approach, pricing strategies, risks, stakeholders, and other areas to determine if the vision is achievable.  If you are employed by a bank and want to have access to business and management professionals to help your customers, please reach out for a meeting.  

Consultants: Most consultants are niche consultants. They are very good at the services they provide but often discover that other areas need to be addressed to help move the organization forward. It is not unusual for THE STRATEGY EXPERT® to be called upon to assist fellow consultants. We have been brought in and billed under the heading of our consulting partner or simply referred to a client. We are open to both arrangements.

CPA and Financial Services Firms: Many CPA and Financial Services Firms offer tax advice, budgeting, and forecasting, and some even provide some basic strategic planning. We provide strategic planning services (strategic plan, Strategy-in-a-Day™, and Strategy Sprints™) for CPA and FSF partners. We can also help form strategic alliances and joint ventures and we can conduct strategic due diligence on M&A opportunities.   We can do so under their heading and billing of the firm (as an additional revenue stream) or as a referral.  

Investors: Sometimes having a strategic view of an opportunity (to supplement your financial and legal due diligence), can make the difference between a good investment and a bad investment. For smaller investors, we can work with companies in which you have invested to make sure your company partners have a strategic direction and a means to achieve the vision. We also conduct strategic due diligence on business plans to assess the business model being used, the strategic approach, pricing strategies, risks, stakeholders, and other areas to determine if the vision is achievable. We can also help form strategic alliances and joint ventures and we can conduct strategic due diligence on M&A opportunities.
